Priceline’s Makeup Director Rae Morris teaches us her best tricks to look younger using products you already have at home.
For Your Face
Cover dark spots, freckles and other pigmented areas with foundation, and buff it into skin using a big fluffy brush.
“The best beauty advice I’ve ever heard was from a plastic surgeon,” says Morris. “One time, he showed me two images of a 70 year old woman who had really sun-damaged skin – lots of wrinkles and pigmentation. In one shot they photoshopped all the wrinkles out, and she still looked old. In the other picture, they kept every wrinkle but evened out her skin tone, and she looked 20 years younger.”

Concealer is also really important for covering problematic spots, however, you’ll need different colours for different areas.
“For something that sticks out above the face, such as a pimple or mole, use the same colour as your foundation,” adds Morris. “For something within the surface like an eye bag or acne scar, use a shade that’s a tiny bit lighter.”

For Your Eyes
Yes, you can be too old to wear glitter.
“Shimmer can accentuate any wrinkles you have, and is so dangerous on anyone that has even the finest of lines,” says Morris.
If you do want to wear a little bit of sparkle, try it on the inner corners of your eyes to brighten them.

“Matte eyeshadows are the most effective in any case,” says Morris. “They add dimension and carve out a nicer shape for your eyes. Creamy brown eyeshadows are my favourite as they’re really versatile and work on everyone.”

For Your Brows
We’re loving the fact that fuller, bushier brows are back.
“Super thin brows are just not flattering,” says Morris. “We’re never going to see the return of that trend again.”
“My best brow trick is doing it strand by strand with a gel colour and angle brush. Finely apply the strokes within your eyebrow to give the illusion of having more hairs within that area. Or use a pencil if you want fine to medium strokes, or to fill in a bigger area.”

For Your Lips
Say bye bye to bright, metallic or shimmery lipsticks if you want to wipe years off your face.
“Keep it close to the lip colour you had when you were younger; light berry shades are really beautiful,” says Morris.
“Bold shades like red can make your skin look more red as well,” she continued.

For Your Cheeks
Liven up a plain face with a touch of colour on your cheeks.
“The right way to apply blush is by keeping a straight face,” says Morris. “Imagine an invisible line from the corner of your mouth to the top of your ears – never place blush below this line, as it can drag your whole face down.”
Once again, avoid shimmery shades as this will accentuate the lines on your face.
