Kanye West Handcuffed And Hospitalised After Cancelling Tour Dates

Just hours after another nonsensical rant, rapper Kanye West has been handcuffed for his own safety and hospitalised, say reports.

The rapper is under ‘psychiatric evaluation’ at UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles – and the rest of his tour cancelled as friends say the star is “spiraling out of control”,TMZ reports.

A source familiar with the situation also told NBC News that Los Angeles police responded to a medical welfare call.

The report adds that he was suffering from severe sleep deprivation it was determined he “needed to be admitted” for psychiatric evaluation.

The site adds that Kanye did not want to be taken to the hospital and “was restrained when he was transported.”

As previously reported by Us, Kanye abruptly ended his show in Sacramento at the weekend after going off on a rant about Beyoncé, Jay Z, Hillary Clinton and the media.

His wife, Kim Kardashian, jetted off to New York City early Monday morning and is expected to make an appearance at the Angel Gala in honour of her late father Robert Kardashian this week.

“He’s just exhausted,” another source told Us of why Kanye pulled the plug on his remaining shows.

“He’s been working around the clock on fashion design, both his own line and the Adidas line. He’s a notorious workaholic … so balancing both that work — which is extremely important to him — and the rigors of the tour every night, it really wore him out.

“All the time spent away from his family has been a stress on him, as well. They are the most important to him. Obviously he’s a professional and wants to give his fans a great experience, and I think his gut was telling him not to extend the tour through the end of the year, but he decided to push through. He doesn’t want to give his fans anything less than the best.”

On top of the stress of dealing with Kim’s robbery in Paris, it’s also the anniversary of his beloved mum Donda’s death in 2007 due to “surgical complications”, aged just 58.
