In their first media interviews about the high-profile 2015 split, first Braith claimed Jodi, 30, gave up work as an actor and model to be a stay-at-home mum to their daughter Aleeia.
He also said they had differing opinions on how many children they should have.
“I wanted more kids and it wasn’t for her at that time in her life,” Braith admitted.
But then Jodi responded to the Sunday Telegraph the next day by saying that it’s always been business as usual on the work front for her.
The former Home & Away star says she has no plans to leave Australia anytime soon, quashing rumours of a shift to Hollywood, and is here to concentrate on her career and her daughter.
Jodi says the priority now is maintaining a good relationship with Braith, 34, for the sake of Aleeia, who turns two in March, 2016.
“Aleeia is such a happy little girl, we don’t want that to change,” says Jodi.
Jodi and Braith announced a trial separation in 2015 after three years of marriage, having wed in a lavish ceremony in Bali in October 2012.
They put on a brave front to spend Christmas together for the sake of Aleeia and their respective families.
But both spent New Year’s apart, and soon after that Jodi returned to Bali for a relaxing break, while Braith was lacing up his boots to prepare for a Nine’s rugby league tournament in New Zealand in February.
Snapped in a heated argument in Coogee, Sydney, in December, Briath says the pair has been drifting apart for some time before the official announcement.
It’s been a stressful time for the still single former NRL player who is also dedicating his time to looking after his mum Kim.
Kim, who brought up Braith on her own following his father Peter’s suicide when the young footballer was just 15 years old, recently suffered a heart attack just before the couple announced their split.
