How To Master False Lashes For Asian Eyes

Step 1 – Take the strip lashes out of the box, and measure it against your own eye. If it’s too long, trim from the insides of the lash (the short ends) with scissors. For a more natural look, try a set of strip lashes that have both long and short hairs. Try Shu Uemura Natural Volume False Eye Lashes, $25

Step 2 – Pop a small drop of lash glue on the back of your hand.

Step 3 – As it starts to dry, pull one of the lashes through the glue, with the strip facing down. Use a cotton tip to remove some glue if there is too much on the strip.

Step 4 –  Let the glue dry up some more – it should be about 80% dry before you apply it to your eyes. Press the longer side down right on top of your lashes, and when that side is dry, press the shorter side down on top of your other lashes. Repeat for the other eye.

Step 5 – Natural lashes on Asian eyes are typically short and straight, thus requiring a helping hand in the length and curl department.

“As an Asian person does not have round eyes, you’ll need a smaller lash curler instead of the standard full-lash curler to do smaller sections at a time,” says Asano. Try Shu Uemura New Generation Eyelash Curler, $18

Step 6 – Next, apply a curling and defining mascara – apply gently by sweeping the wand from the root of the lash right through to the tip several times. Let it dry, and repeat for a second coat.
