Chrisanthi: I’m Chrisanthi, the Beauty Editor for The Carousel, and joining me is Amy Lennane, the founder of fab makeup brand, Eye of Horus. Amy, the brand has gone from strength to strength over the last four years since its launch, now even being stocked internationally. You’re based in Byron Bay, but the brand has Egyptian ties, can you tell us how they came about?
Amy: When it comes to makeup, every woman loves the Cleopatra look – it’s timeless. So we started researching how the Ancient Egyptians used to formulate their products, which was with a high wax base.
Chrisanthi: And is this what makes your brand different to others?
Amy: It does, we’ve really worked on keeping the natural element with the high performance element.
Chrisanthi: Who is your typical Eye of Horus woman?
Amy: She is the everyday Goddess. Our slogan of the brand is, ‘Awaken the Goddess Within’, because we believe every woman is a Goddess.
Chrisanthi: Tell us about your latest product.
Amy: Our latest product, which I’m very excited about, is the Copper Sphinx Liquid Metal Liner, so it is from a range of four liners.
Chrisanthi: And what colours do they come in?
Amy: They are available in the bronze, copper, gold and silver
Chrisanthi: Perfect. And in using that new product, what are your top three tips to create the perfect, copper, smokey look?
Amy: I would always smudge, blend and add colour to my lower lash line.
