Exclusive Interview: Carla Zampatti Talks Her Latest Collection With Westpac

Want to work at Westpac? You will when you hear who has designed the bank’s latest uniform.

Australian fashion designer Carla Zampatti – a long-time Westpac customer – has collaborated with the bank on its stunning new corporate wardrobe.

Westpac and Carla unveiled the ‘The Westpac Collection‘ at The Calyx in Sydney’s Royal Botanic Garden.

“As a long-standing Westpac customer, I was honoured to be asked to design the wardrobe for this iconic Australian brand,” says Carla.

The wardrobe will be worn by 8000 staff across 680 branches and over 50 business banking centres.

The collection was showcased alongside the new Carla Zampatti Winter collection, not by models but 30 genuine Westpac staff, from all over Australia.

It was a glorious day for the show and everyone showed their support as the proud employees left their desks behind and hit the runway to showcase their special new uniforms.

The collection showed high quality fabrics, bold new colours and of course, Carla’s favourite signature pattern – stripes!

There were gorgeous Westpac black and white striped dresses for the women; even the men weren’t left out with the addition of stripey socks to their outfits. When Carla showed the men the stripey socks she said: “They thought it was Christmas”.

To create the wardrobe, Carla worked with a group of over 200 employees throughout the design process. Feedback from the wearer trials resulted in adaptations to style, fabric and fit, and saw new inclusions such as an iconic Westpac red dress.

Carla said the feedback she got from staff was that they wanted variety, so she combined that with Westpac’s request for a timeless and empowering look – who better to turn to than Ms Zampatti to make that a reality!
