Everything You Need To Know About Hydra Filler

There’s a new anti-ageing technique called HydraFiller that was recently launched by the Australian Skin Clinics. Different from other products on the market, this unique new dermal filler works well for anti-ageing, hydration and scar reduction.

The great thing about HydraFiller is that only one treatment is needed and lasts for nine months – unlike similar hyaluronic acid fillers where multiple treatments are needed and only last for six months.

It also offers an even more intense hydration to the skin than previously offered by other skin boosting injectable treatments. Apart from treating fine lines and acne scarring, HydraFiller provides increased dermal hydration. The results are subtle but impressive and it’s not surprising it’s very popular in the Korean Beauty Market where it is known as the “glass look”, as the hydration it provides the skin makes you look like you’re wearing highlighter without actually wearing any.

So how does it work?

It’s administered via a series of micro-injections into the skin. These are like pin pricks but not for the faint hearted or anyone squeamish about needles. Although, HydraFiller contains the anaesthetic lidocaine for what’s described as “patient comfort” during treatment.

The reason it works well as a skin hydrator is thanks to the unique crosslinking of its key ingredient, hyaluronic acid.

Australian Skin Clinics’ National Injectables Manager and Registered Nurse Injector April Jones said: “HydraFiller solves a number of skin challenges by mimicking our body’s natural process of self- hydration, by replenishing the key active ingredient, hyaluronic acid.”

Hyaluronic acid has the capacity to retain up to 1,000 times its weight in water and is responsible for binding collagen and elastin fibres into a protective matrix, giving the skin its structure.

“During the natural ageing process, our levels of hyaluronic acid decrease, which results in dermal dehydration and reduced tissue elasticity, leading to wrinkle formation,” explains April.

“HydraFiller prevents this from happening and is a significant game changer for the treatment of acne scars.

Clinical trials showed 96 per cent of participants had smoother cheeks after treatment with HydraFiller – significantly reducing the appearance of scarring in those afflicted.

“Our skin is constantly absorbing toxins from the environment, and the sun and wind are known to cause damage; all contributing to ageing and dehydration. This new treatment is particularly good for skin that has been affected by these factors so is a wonderful alternative for Australians wanting to look their very best.”

As a prescription-only treatment, HydraFillers should only be administered by a registered healthcare professional who has received the appropriate training. This is taken seriously and before your treatment, there is an extensive health check list of questions. One thing to note is that if you are about to go on a long haul flight, you can’t have the treatment.

Cosmetic injectors at Australian Skin Clinics undergo professional training to ensure they are qualified to administer the treatment in a comfortable setting and the HydraFiller also contains the anaesthetic lidocaine for patient comfort during treatment.

Australian Skin Clinics has more than 45 clinics across Australia, offering a variety of treatments from laser hair removal and advanced skin treatments to their newest treatments CryoDefine Fat Freezing, Micro-Needling and LED Light Therapy.

Treatments begin at $599.
