Why would Deborah Hutton want to be a cruise director I hear you ask?

Well, it’s not just any cruise, it’s a river cruise with Avalon Waterways for 11days in Southern France designed specifically for women and men aged 45+ who are seeking some more “balance” in their life.Since starting Balance by Deborah Hutton in 2012, I’ve interviewed some amazing people and been inspired by their stories of success, their failures and their recipe for balance.

Everyone one of them is different but one thing we all have in common is that success, no matter who you are, is simply about being the best version of yourself, right here and right now.

And to do that, we need balance. We need to juggle our work, family and friends with our inner needs and desires. Sometimes that means taking time out to recharge, relax and indulge in the things we love.

For me it’s pretty simple, I love travelling, food and wine. I was pretty confident that there would be more than a few men and women in the same boat, which is why we’ve organised a “boat” for us all to enjoy some well-earned R&R.

Deborah Hutton Takes To The Sea 2

The inaugural Balance Food, Wine and Relaxation River Cruise with Avalon Waterways starts in Paris on August 18, 2016, and ends in Cannes on August 28th.

It’s a big commitment to host this trip from both sides. We’ve obviously not done this before and for a lot of the people who are booking, this will be their first big trip in many years or even the first time putting their needs first and venturing out on their own.

Which is why we’re travelling during the best dates of the season and we’ve gone all out to make this unique and packed full of extras. There will be no other cruise through Europe like it!

I’m channelling my inner Julie from the Love Boat and I’m also bringing along my good friend and Balance relaxation coach (Lyndall Mitchell) to run some optional recreation classes on the top deck. Wine connoisseur Nick Stock, another great mate, is coming along to show us all the secret wineries and guide our taste buds through one of France’s most famous wine regions. We’ll also have some onboard entertainment from Leave It to the Diva all included for no extra charge.

But we only have limited cabins left and bookings are about to close.

At the moment we have a fabulous “fly free” promotion for twin share bookings. Or if you don’t need the flights, we can give you a $1200 per person rebate. We also have a few spots left for our discounted singles fare but these promotions are ending in a few weeks.
