Commando Steve’s Raw Chocolate Macaroon Balls

Makes 15 balls

INGREDIENTS

125 ml coconut oil, melted
50 g almond meal
3 tablespoons maple syrup
90 g desiccated coconut
2 tablespoons cacao powder, plus extra for rolling

METHOD 
1 Combine all the ingredients except the extra cacao powder in a bowl or small food processor and mix well. Shape into balls, using a tablespoon of mixture for each and rolling gently in your hands. Arrange them on a tray and place in the freezer to set for around 20 minutes.
2 Remove from the freezer and roll the balls in the extra cacao powder. Serve as a delicious treat!

  • The quantities in this recipe are all wrong. There is way too much coconut oil - I stopped at 90mls and added cacao nibs, more desiccated coconut and more almond meal and the mixture was still dripping with oil. I couldn't 'roll' the mixture into anything as it was too wet. They were just foul and a complete waste of ingredients.
