Where else would an Australian fashion icon celebrate 50 years in the industry? At another Australian icon, of course! With one of the most enviable views in the world, the Northern Foyer of the Sydney Opera House was a fitting venue for Carla Zampatti to celebrate her 50th anniversary with a divine catwalk show showcasing her Spring Summer 2015 collection.
With an audience of A-list celebrities, fashion industry heavyweights, media and VIP guests looking on in awe, Carla showcased her SS15 collection which gave a celebratory nod to 80’s excess glamour with the boldest of Indian Pink, Buttercup Yellow and Electric Blue against a backdrop of Carla’s signature black and white.
Overblown florals and jacquards along with voluminous shapes were perfect for the grandeur of the purple carpeted Northern Foyer and was accentuated with a live musical performance by Paul Mac with Jonny Seymour, releasing the first track of Paul’s new album, Holiday From Me.
Luxury jewellery brand Cerrone Jewellers collaborated with Carla designing uniquely crafter rings created exclusively for the 50th anniversary show, including signature pieces in 18ct white gold, black rhodium and large South Sea pearls. With a hand from Carla’s stylist Michelle Jank, Cerrone adorned the models hands with these stunning rings as they sashayed down the catwalk and around the foyer of the Opera House, cleverly designed with a minimal yet bold effect to complement Carla’s classic designs.
