CareApp Is Keeping You Connected With Aged Care During COVID-19

CareApp has just announced all aged care facilities globally will have free access to the app in light of COVID-19 and the long-term impacts it will have on the sector. By sharing photos, notes, audio and more, worried families can be reassured of the wellbeing of their loved ones without even having to be there in person.

Major actions taken by the government will impact aged care facilities for at least a period of six months, according to Prime Minister, Scott Morrison. And with the enforcement of facility lockdowns and strict visiting rules likely to increase, the aged care sector and the most vulnerable population of our community are being put under immense pressure.

To help deal with this situation, free access to CareApp will provide families across the globe with “a personalised and reassuring window into the care and wellbeing of loved ones,” much like how schools and childcare facilities communicate with parents via specific apps.

These visiting rules and lockdowns have led to families being restricted from seeing their loved ones, which is not only heartbreaking for many families, but also potentially distressing for the elderly.

“We can only imagine the stress that the aged care sector is going through in response to COVID-19. Over the coming weeks and months, we are here to help,”

said Allison Nikula, CEO and Founder of CareApp

With CareApp, people can share photos, video/audio, as well as notices, events, and newsletters so that both residents and families can be kept in the loop. “CareApp is simple to use and easy to implement – we can get facilities up and running within hours,” said Allison.

“We’re hopeful that aged care management will take up our offer of free access to CareApp to ensure that families stay connected during this time.”

CareApp has announced that it will be generously free-to-use for the entirety of the pandemic. For more information, visit careapp.com.au.
