Rita, 25, is the latest woman named in connection with Beyonce’s new album Lemonade, which has a track that appears to blame “Becky with the good hair” for a tryst with her husband.
But the popular singer took to Twitter to set the record straight, insisting that she “had nothing but the utmost respect” for the chart-topper.
Rita first fanned the flames by wearing a lemon-printed bikini on her Snapchat and Instagramming a picture of the poster for Ash Wednesday, an Elizabeth Taylor movie about an ageing wife trying to win back her cheating husband by getting plastic surgery.
She sent social media into a meltdown by then wearing an ensemble lifted directly from the pop diva’s Formation music video.
Walking around West Hollywood with friends, Rita donned the same Gucci silk shirt and matching blouse that Beyonce wears while straddling a police car in the popular video.
Rita even accessorised the look with the same Jennifer Fisher ‘R’ pendant necklace which stirred up the story in the first place.
Beyonce fans first attacked designer Rachel Roy (and, accidentally but angrily, celebrity chef Rachael Ray) after her since-deleted Instagram post appeared to make a pointed reference to the singer’s controversial lyric.
“Good hair don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always. Live in the light #nodramaqueens,” she writes.
The comment sent Beyonce’s devoted followers into a frenzy, and the group immediately began to attack Rachel on her Instagram account and accuse her of having an affair of Jay Z.
Much like Rita, it’s not the first time Rachel has been accused of being the other woman in Beyoncé’s marriage either.
Reports of an alleged romance with Jay Z first emerged back in May 2014.
It was rumoured that it was the fashion designer’s affair with the rapper that sent Beyoncé’s sister Solange Knowles into a rage which ended with her physically attacking the rapper in the elevator of a New York City hotel.
