Look no further, we asked the top makeup experts in Australia the one (or two, for those who couldn’t choose their favourite beauty baby) what product they can’t leave the house without.
Nicole Thompson
MAC Australia Senior Artist who works across local and international fashion weeks, magazines such as Vogue, Sunday Life, RUSSH and Marie Claire, plus a host of top fashion campaigns.
“I need my eyebrows otherwise I look like a sad clown! I use a lingering MAC Eyebrow Pencil, but the reality is I use MAC Eye Shadow as well, because I have nothing. I have no eyebrows so if I just use a pencil it kind of comes off, so I use a pencil and eye shadow over the top to set it on there!”
Rachael Brook
Leading Australian Makeup Artist and Beauty Content Creator who tends to the faces of celebrities, bloggers and models and has worked for top magazines such as Vogue and Elle, and for brands such as L’Oreal, Topshop and Coke Zero.
“The one product I can’t leave my house without is my favourite highlighter, which is currently Mary Lou Manizer by The Balm. I need that highlighted glow on my skin at all times, I feel like it takes the focus away from any imperfections on my skin (usually around my chin) and gives me a youthful glow. I’m obsessed!”
Ania Milczarczyk
Top Australian makeup artist who has done the covers of Cosmopolitan and Time Out magazine, endless fashion and beauty campaigns including Universal Music, Glue Store and Olay, plus a huge celebrity clientele.
“I personally cannot live without primer. I use it on myself everyday and without fail on every single makeup I’ve done on a model or client. It creates the perfect base for makeup, helps it last longer and can also help protect the skin from absorbing not only the makeup but everyday nastiness such as city pollution. My favourite primer, Laura Mercier Primer Protect Broad Spectrum, also has SPF in it which I love because my foundation doesn’t have any sun protection.”
Linda Jeffereys
One of Australia’s leading makeup artist’s who has done countless covers for Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Elle and Sunday Life Magazine, plus big brands such as David Jones, Country Road and Westfield.
“I bleached off my brows because I was testing things, so at the moment I have to use a MAC Black Pencil in the socket, around and underneath my eyes that I smudge, smudge, smudge – so I can actually have some eyes! There’s no mascara, there’s nothing but that!”
Jade Kisnorbo
Jade is a celebrity makeup artist who has worked at London Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week and Britain’s Next Top Model Live Stage, as well as countless red carpets, film, fashion and commercial shoots.
Lara Srokowski
Lancome’s National Makeup Director who works across fashion week, editorial and celebrity, plus as an educator.
“I can’t live without the Lancome Miracle Cushion – you can use it as a primer, as a foundation, as a concealer. It’s the one product that can completely transform your makeup. And I live on a plane, when you get off you never feel fresh, so that refreshes my skin.”
Victoria Curtis
ABIA Makeup Artist Of The Year and founder of cosmetic brand, Curtis Collection.
“One of my must have makeup products is my Curtis Collection Airbrush Finish Mineral Concealer. I apply this under my eyes and along my cheekbones which gives my face an instant lift and creates the illusion of highlighted cheekbones minus the dark circles. It is definitely a product I cannot live without!”
