A Tequila-Free Twist On The Classic Paloma Sour

Born in Mexico and named after the dove, the classic Paloma has long been celebrated for its effortless charm: tequila, lime, and grapefruit soda, served over ice with a salted rim – to deliver a drink as bright and breezy as an afternoon in Guadalajara. This Savage Paloma Sour takes this heritage and elevates it, transforming the fizzy, casual original into a cocktail of refined complexity. Savage Rabbit Vodka steps in for tequila, fresh grapefruit juice replaces soda, and a silky egg white (or aquafaba) gives the drink its lush, cloud-like texture. The result is a cocktail that honours heritage with modern flair – velvety, zesty, and unapologetically bold.

INGREDIENTS

  • 60ml Savage Rabbit Vodka
  • 30ml Fresh Grapefruit Juice
  • 15ml Sugar Syrup
  • 1 whole Egg White (or 20ml Aquafaba for vegan-friendly version)

INSTRUCTIONS

Reverse dry shake all ingredients to emulsify, then shake again with ice until chilled.

Strain into a lowball glass over ice with a half-salted rim.

Garnish with a strip of grapefruit zest and serve immediately.
