Australian music’s biggest night, the ARIA awards, celebrates 30 years with a stunning line-up of performers on show at Sydney’s Star Casino tonight.

Screening free on Channel Ten from 7.30pm, the awards feature international stars Robbie Williams and Tove Lo, and a who’s who of local talent performing live.

The full list is: Bernard Fanning, Crowded House, Flume, Illy, Jessica Mauboy Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham, Missy Higgins, The Veronicas, Troye Sivan, Vera Blue and Violent Soho.

Crowded House, who return to the Sydney Opera House for three concerts during ARIA week, will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Twins Jessica and Lisa Origliasso, AKA The Veronicas, say they are thrilled to be hosting the star-studded event.

“Last year it was an honour to perform alongside Tina Arena and this year it will be just as exciting as we worship at John Farnham’s feet in front of the entire music industry,” they tell The Daily Telegraph.

“We’re thrilled to be hosting this year’s ARIAs and we’re honoured to have the opportunity to help bring 30 years of ARIAs to life.”

The nominations, released last month, are dominated by Flume and Troye Sivan, who took 11 and seven nominations respectively. The Avalanches, Sia and Illy all grabbed six noms, while RUFUS, Violent Soho and King Gizz took five each.

Flume, the alter ego of Harley Streten, has been on a giddy rise to the top over the past four years, building on his early remixes and EPs with a breakthrough self-titled debut album which thrust him onto the world stage at marquee festivals, from our own Splendour In The Grass to Coachella in Palm Springs.

He’s already won ARIAs this year in the non-televised artisan category for producer, engineer and best cover art (Skin) and is a hot favourite tonight for the big ones; Album of the Year and Best Male Artist.

  • Watch the ARIAs on Ten, from 7.30pm, Wednesday, November 23.
