Zoe, who played Regan on the hit Nine series, spoke to Kidspot about her unique parenting approach and her stand on why she chose not to vaccinate.
“If your kid is in daycare and there’s someone else who doesn’t vaccinate, you feel they’ve been left open,” says Zoe.
“But if the mother of that child is homeopathically treating their child and looking after their overall wellness, you shouldn’t worry.”
Zoe has three children; Ella-Blue, 9, from a first marriage, and Sophia, 4, and Beau, who was born in May, with actor husband Aaron Jeffery.
Zoe and husband Aaron married in 2010 after meeting and falling in love after playing farmers on McLeod’s Daughters.
Aaron (Water Rats) was one of the biggest names in Australian television, but he dropped off the radar after pleading guilty to assaulting and threatening to kill his first wife Melinda in 2005.
He later re-emerged to star in three seasons of hit prison series Wentworth.
Aaron and Zoe now live on a lifestyle block in the Blue Mountains surrounded by rescue animals, horses, gardens and nature – and Zoe says they only take charge of their children when necessary.
“We have kind of surrendered any notion of control and putting the kids in any schedule. We allow them to lead with what they want,” she says.
Zoe also believes people need a holistic approach to wellness and has a homeopath, chiropractor, kinesioligist and a medical doctor.
She adds that four-year-old daughter Sophia has not seen a GP since birth.
Zoe says she keeps her children healthy through diet, by avoiding wheat and refined sugar, and that her family rarely gets sick.
Zoe, who recently confessed to a heroin addiction in her 20s, is now very focused on her journey of awakening, and encouraging others to connect with themselves and find their own centre.
