The stunning actress, who appears on the cover of InStyle Australia’s August issue, has a one-year-old Valentino with her artist husband Vincent Fantauzzo.
“I like suprises and Valentino was a surprise. I don’t close doors very often so we’ll just see,” Asher tells InStyle.
“I do have an Italian husband who loves children, but with work at the moment…I’m just so focuses on jumping back into it.”
Asher, who is also stepmum to her husband’s son Luca, says motherhood has been a steep learning curve, but a role she’s fully embraced.
“It was challenging, but it was also the most full of love any time has ever felt for me…I wasn’t expecting it to give me so much purpose.”
Asher, who plays Dr Nina Proudman on the hit Ten show, says a key to keeping the right balance between work and family life has been having her son on set with her.
The 41-year-year-old told OK! magazine that she had the clause written into her contract to ensure Valentino could be by her side during the filming process.
“I will be bringing my child to work every day, that was part of the deal,” she said.
Asher also had the luxury of having Vincent, above, at work with her too for season six of the series.
Although renowned more for his art – he painted Asher for the 2013 Archibald Prize – Vincent recently appeared in a steamy cameo playing Franklin Swan, a friend of Nina’s brother Wil Bowen.
She meets Franklin at a bar where she has gone on a date with Dr Angus Freeman.
The show’s producers aren’t saying whether Vincent’s character will reappear.
But off-screen Asher says her relationship with her husband has given her the courage to be herself.
