Every betrothed gal wants to glow on her big-day, but the reality is that after months of (sometimes stressful!) planning the complexion can look a little… err, lackluster.

Olivia Jenkins knows a thing or two about reclaiming that glow. As the author of the e-book Clear Skin Project, founder of natural beauty and wellness site www.oliviajenkins.com.au and Business Manager of Kosmea, the iconic Aussie rose hip oil and skincare company, Olivia says these four Something Old, Something New skincare tips will get your glow back pronto…

Something old:

Use Rose Hip Oil. “I’ve spent my life dipped in it! But did you know that rubbing rose hip oil into the skin morning and night promotes amazing skin benefits with lasting results? Due to the high levels of Omega-3 and essential fatty acids, rose hip oil will ensure that you are glowing inside and out before and after your wedding celebrations.” Try: Kosmea Limited Edition Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil, $19.95, www.kosmea.com.au

product Something new:

Drink Coconut Water. “OK, it’s not completely new, but its popularity definitely is. Try incorporating some coconut water into your daily intake of liquids. It not only hydrates your body, but also your skin – and being our largest organ, it needs as much hydration as possible. Coconut water also contains Vitamin C and antioxidants, and it tastes DELICIOUS!”

Something borrowed:

Borrow that magical moment. “Think about the moment your lover asked you for your hand in marriage… remember that euphoric feeling of love, care and respect? Borrow that. Relive that feeling every time you are feeling stressed about your upcoming nuptials. Our skin does not respond well to stress. It raises levels our hormone cortisol, resulting in inflamed skin and unwanted blemishes. Of course, the lead-up to your big day is a hectic time and you will no doubt be stressed about every detail, but try every so often to ‘borrow’ that moment in time to relax, recoup and remember why you are spending your life with that person. Your complexion will thank you.”

Something blue:

Eat Blueberries! “Fill up your body with blueberries in the lead up to your big day! They are my personal favourite and contain a ridiculously high amount of antioxidants to help ensure your skin is clear and glowing.”
