Domestic Violence: Emma Murphy’s Shocking Black Eye Video

In the five minute clip, Emma alleges her partner of 3 ½ years punched her after she confronted him about cheating on her. It wasn’t the first time he cheated, or physically and mentally tortured her, alleges Emma. But it is the first time she has spoken out about it, in the hope to help other women trapped in abusive relationships.

Emma, from Dublin, Ireland, explains in the shocking video how her partner had split her head open, hit her on multiple occasions, lied, cheated and emotionally and psychologically tormented her. Emma said he repeatedly called her paranoid, psycho and nuts, and said how her insecurities would kill her one day.

Emma’s Facebook page has been inundated with messages of support from both men and women.

“I’m shaking with rage watching this video,” wrote Dave Fields. “I’m 35 years old now, I grew up with a violent dad in the house who literally kicked my mother, me and my sister around for many years, physical and emotional abuse. I still have nightmares and wake up thinking my Dad is beating me in my sleep – it took my mother over 11 years to do what you did…. but it was a different era then, you didn’t just leave your hubby for violence in them days – so my mother was really brave doing what she did at the time – just like you – what a brave woman you are, not many women would have the courage to post this video, fair play to you and best wishes for you and your children in the future…”

Other women who have experienced domestic violence shared their stories. Sammy Jo Davison wrote: “Wow Emma you are soooo brave for speaking out about this. I’ve been through a similar situation and have just recently got out of the relationship. This has helped me get through it a lot!!! Thank you for raising awareness.”

While others, like Gracie Bridgeheart Roberts, are in the same situation as Emma, rebuilding their lives after leaving a violent relationship. “I left a relationship like this a few months ago and it was the best thing I ever did,” writes Gracie. “I’m now living in a women’s refuge and I’ve had to leave everything behind me but now I’ve been away from him, I can see everything clearly and for what it really was. If a man can do that to his woman, he doesn’t love her at all. Well done for posting this video. It must have been so hard for you and you must be fucking terrified of what might happen now, but it was the right thing to do. You’ll have helped so many women to realise that they’re not alone and there IS something they can do about it.”

Emma’s video has had more than 5,693,360 views.

This man appears several times with Emma on her Facebook page. It doesn’t mention he is her partner and the alleged perpetrator, but supporters of Emma have left scathing messages against all his photos.
