Myer ‘face’ Jennifer Hawkins showed she can still put the younger babes to shame as she worked the catwalk at the Myer SS Designer Collections event in Sydney.
The 32-year-old, who has just resigned with Myer for another two years, made a dramatic appearance on the 32-metre runway in a tiered black gown by Toni Maticevski.
Jennifer later modelled a skimpy striped bikini from her own label Cozi and dazzled in pleated maxi by new Myer label Roksanda and stunning cocktail frock by Alex Perry.
The styling of the show, by fashion director Michael Azzollini, delivered a beautiful display of Myer’s new season collections defined by an overarching trend for romantic and high-luxe designs.
The collections celebrated the first signs of spring featuring an explosion of floral prints in every guise, from micro petal prints to oversized florals.
The set was punctuated by a breathtaking and futuristic neon light display, with models weaving beneath 20 kinetic linear light formations that dropped from the ceiling.
Over the course of the show at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, the stunning light display evolved to create six unique formations that shone throughout the vast space creating a fashion spectacular not seen before in Australia.
Other highlights included the new Morrison range, the go-to label for women looking for a flouncy, feminine spring fling, and the Sass & Bide collection with lots of beading and a very loud striped sequin suit.
MISHA Collection, another new addition to the Myer stable, turned up the heat with a series of signature body-con dresses.
For the blokes, boardies were all the rage, with a strong nautical vibe, from labels such as MJ Bale – and Dunlop Volleys look like making a comeback.
