When The Gidget Foundation CEO Arabella Gibson won an award at the recent CEO Magazine’s Executive of the Year Awards, she was quick to praise her team for their tireless work.

Speaking shortly after the ceremony hosted by Ben Fordham at The Star Sydney., Arabella said: “These awards are an opportunity to shine a very bright light on the issue of perinatal depression and anxiety. The Awards are also a wonderful recognition of our Foundation and its work over the past 21 years. Personally, I feel very honoured to be leading an exceptional and formidable team of truly wonderful humans!”

“The Gidget Foundation currently has 18 Gidget Houses across 3 states, offering free psychological counselling for expectant and new parents,” Arabella told The Carousel. “Our aim is to grow this footprint right across the country to support as many people as possible. This year we have plans to open 10 new sites – across regional NSW, VIC, Qld and our first in WA!”

In what must be an incredibly rewarding role, Arabella reflected on why she loves waking up every day and working at the Foundation. “I am most proud of the fact that the clinical support we offer genuinely changes lives. We support Australian families to recover and go on to live happy and fulfilled lives. Does it get any better than that?! “

And the answer is ‘not really’.
