The Ultimate Glamour Look: Rebecca Vallance at NYFW

Get your glam on with inspiration from Rebecca Vallance’s latest show from NYFW.

Nothing is sexier than loose, tousled waves paired with dark, smokey eyes.

Face

“Skin is paired down, and there’s absolutely no contouring or highlighting – just whatever it takes the get the skintone looking even. The rawness of skin, paired with bare, brushed up brows help the eye stand out in an edgier way. The whole look is deconstructed, and constructed at the same time,” said MAC Cosmetics lead makeup artist Chantel Miller.

Eyes

“We’re doing a late 70’s Jerry Hall look where it’s all about the eyes, and it’s different and fresh – you may think that with the 70’s we’d be using bronze tones, but we’ve changed it up and it’s more about taupe.”

To complete the look, start with M.A.C. Eyeshadow in Satin Taupe in the centre of the eye, and layer Embark and Shadowy on the outer edges of the eye. Punctuate with Carbon Black.

“We’ve also used M.A.C.’s Haute and Naughty mascara but we’ve applied it with an eyeshadow brush – this way, you can whack on the mascara in a vertical motion onto the lashes, and it builds a thick, glam lash very quickly, continued Miller.

Hair

“We’re bringing back glamour in a healthy, fresh and very shiny way,” said Paul Norton, celebrity hairstylist and Joico ambassador. “There’s a 70’s tinge with a soft wave curling away from the face (using a 1 ¼ inch tong). To achieve the look, we held thick sections of hair together and curled it, added some Joico Hair Shake for a fuller look, and then brushed it out and finished with some Flipturn hairspray to put the style together.”
