From the Aztecs and the turquoise waters of Acapulco to the sites of Los Cabos, tequila cocktails and street foods to cultural festivities and traditions, Mexico is packed with things to see, taste, try and ‘I do’.

Check out the new hotspot for destination – and underwater – weddings! Here’s a taste…

The Proposal

Your ‘I do’ might not be as clear as the groom-to-be would like, but you can always give him a thumbs up! The underwater wedding is run Bahia Hotel & Beach Club, Nautilus Dive Tech, and Los Cabos Minister Services and takes place in the sea of Cortez. Pack your bikini!

The Location

It wouldn’t be an underwater wedding without a few picture-perfect palm trees swaying overhead now, would it? The most obvious location is the beach, but if you’d prefer less sand, Los Cabos have a great range of seaside luxury resorts to choose from, each with it’s own unique style and views. Don’t forget to pack your resort wear…

Pre-Ceremony Drinks

Sip on Tequila cocktails and try the local appetizers with guests at luxury spa resort Esperanza. Then, pop on your bikini and follow the signs to the seven seas of love…

The Ceremony

Float down that aisle to meet your Merman waiting at an underwater aisle! There will be no red carpet, but you can always cheat and hold the ceremony on silky white sands with turquoise waters as a background. Oh the choices…

The Transport

You could parasail in, but it’s probably easier to charter a luxury yacht. Hey, when in Mexico! Visit Los Cabos for information or check out your resort’s wedding transport and charter options.

The Reception

If it’s an intimate wedding dinner for two, you can’t go past the Destination Dining experience – just you and your new hubby on a beach, with a personalised waiter at your beck and call. Amp up the vibe with a few renditions from the local performers for a truly authentic Mexican experience. If you have guests, resorts will offer a range of wedding reception packages from waterfront dining to terraces, in-house villa style, private dining and banquet rooms. Just ask!
