Sally Obermeder Celebrates Birthday, Anniversary and Miracle Baby!

The stunning author has just turned 40, celebrated her 15th wedding anniversary – and revealed she’s going to be a mum again thanks to a surrogate!

The founder of lifestyle website Swiish announced the happy news on Instagram with the most adorable family photo.

Seated next to husband Marcus, Sally’s beaming four-year-old daughter Annabelle holds up a sign, confirming the new addition to the family.

“I’m going to be a big sister,” it reads.

The brunette beauty added in the post that she was “thrilled” to be welcoming her second child after previously speaking about her past struggles to conceive a sibling for her daughter.

After life-saving surgery to beat breast cancer, doctors told Sally it would be too dangerous for her to try and get pregnant again.

“Yes, it’s true. Thrilled to bits to share that @marcusobermederand I are adding to our family thanks to the most incredible surrogate,” Sally captions the celebratory picture.

Sally later tells Sunday Night that she found her surrogate, Rachel, in Wisconsin, US, with the help of Growing Generations, a long-established and experienced agency based in Los Angeles. Sally and Marcus produced the embryo when they underwent IVF in Sydney.

Although Growing Generations does facilitate commercial surrogacy in the US, it has told Sunday Night that Rachel’s surrogacy for Sally has been arranged without payment because of Australian laws.

“I kind of feel like it’s a miracle, it’s just a hard experience because it’s like I still feel like I’m not carrying this child but I also feel like it’s the most amazing most special experience,” adds Sally.

Sally also revealed on Sunday Night that she lost the first three IVF embryos and was down to her last one.

As they viewed an ultrasound of the growing baby, an emotional Sally confessed: “I knew it was there, but to see it for myself in the room together… there’s no words.”

Rachel added: “Now we can think about the future. Baby’s healthy, baby’s growing. We’re past the first trimester.”
