Your Essential Melbourne Cup Sweepstake Guide

Your Essential Melbourne Cup Sweepstake Guide

Don’t fret; TheCarousel.com has you covered.

Simply decide on the cost you’d like to allocate per horse ($1, $2 etc), and the way you want to split the total prize pool – winner takes all, or percentage share for first, second or third etc.

For example, if you sell each horse for $5 that gives you a pot of $120. That means you could allocate $70 for first, $30 for second and $20 for third.

Excess Knowledge clinches a Cup run with victory in The Lexus.

If you’re in a smaller group, it might pay to keep the cost per horse lower so you can sell more than one ticket per person.

Then you just need to print out our handy sweep wall chart below, put 24 numbers in a hat and write the name of who’s drawn what horse in the space underneath the comment section.

Flemington is his favourite track, he loves the wide open spaces. I wanted him to be hitting the line in the Caulfield Cup better than what he did; I thought it was a one-paced race and I wanted to see a bit more out of him. I think he can run top 10 in the Melbourne Cup but don’t think he’s a top-three chance.
