Newly crowned Miss World Australia 2017, Esma Voloder put her work as a criminal profiler to one side as she was announced the winner of the Miss World Australia title at a stylish event held in the Savoy Ballroom at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne and will now go on to represent Australia in the worldwide pageant.
Esma was born in a refugee camp after her parents escaped the Bosnian War and after immigrating to Australia went on to study a degree in psychology.
Chalita Suansane, Miss Thailand 2016, bestowed the crown at the glittering event attended by a host of celebrities including comedian Dave “Hughesy” Hughes and Real Housewives of Melbourne star Janet Roach.
Miss World is the largest and most prestigious international beauty pageant in the world in which 142 countries take part.
Miss World is a British-based company owned by the Esteemed Julia Morley. Julia is renowned for raising $1 Billion for children’s for children’s Charities in collaboration with Miss World since it began. Miss World aims to promote ‘Beauty with a purpose’ to encourage women to live a compassionate and Humanitarian Life.
