Inside Celebrity Boot Camp: $5400 Gets You 6 Almonds!

Endorsements like that have seen a slew of celebs and the wealthy drop in for long weekends of brutal exercise and just enough food deprivation to feel ecstatically light-headed, reports The Cut.

The boot camp, which involves hours-long, vomit-inducing hikes and vegan, gluten-free food, promises “sustainable results” in four days. It is called “the Ranch 4.0,” and it costs $5400.

Thanks to the power of social media it is now one of the most popular torture chambers of its kind.

In recent months Rebel, Selma Blair, Mandy Moore, Lea Michele and Julianne Hough, among many others, have all posted photos of themselves sweating victoriously on the Ranch’s breathtaking trails.

“I wish I could stay here longer,” Selma raves. “Nothing like hiking 14 miles a day to the top of a mountain!” Michele gushes. “I lost 8 pounds [3.6kg] from marathon hiking … Feeling great!!” Rebel reports, trumping them all.

“Thanks for the amazing staff and masseuses (free daily massages are part of the program!) Feeling great!”

Rest assured, celebrities aren’t given any special treatment at the boot camp, either.

The Ranch rigidly enforces it’s no-nonsense program has having “no options”.

Trainers wake guests at 5:30am each day, literally walk them through four-hour hikes, and serve them no more than six almonds on the trail.

This is the new wellness, where deprivation is luxury, choice is eliminated, the environment is completely controlled, manicured hands are held, and transformation — being bought and paid for — is all but ensured.

“This program runs from Thursday to Monday and was designed for guests desiring a jump-start to a healthier lifestyle who are unable to be away from home or work for a full week and who desire to maintain more connectivity during their program immersion,” promises the website.
