Here in Aquarius, the sign of individuality and ingenuity, it’s the perfect time to brainstorm. The bigger the better as the global connection will be heightened during this time, so network, call in favours and rope in friends to help with a cause you feel strongly about or use their input and advice to transform your dreams into reality. Aquarius is also associated with friendships and socialising so you’ll be keen to mingle and exchange ideas with unique and interesting people.

Harness the energy of the New Moon in Aquarius, regardless of your sign, with these cosmic tips:

Get tech savvy
As the sign associated with technology, electricity (yes, really) and progressive thought it’s no coincidence that most of your digital-savvy or tech-obsessed friends are Aquarians … go on, do a quick head count. See! Honing your existing knowledge or getting some, if it’s non-existent, will enrich your life not to mention keep you up to speed. Yes, it may be frustrating at first but getting the hang of something and maximising what your digital tools are will open up a brand new world and perhaps even the door to the corner office!

Become globally aware
Ignorance is bliss. For the more sensitive signs (Pisces, looking in your direction) it’s easy to remain in your fluffy cloud and ignore what’s going on in the world. Even for the less emotive it’s still painful, outrageous and frustrating to think of some of the atrocities and injustice that occurs every day. However, as Aquarius is associated with altruism and social justice use your anger and anguish to raise awareness for a cause and take positive strides towards making a difference.

Make new friends
Aquarians can be a bit of a conundrum: on one hand they’re highly sociable creatures but on the other they prefer to remain on the periphery where they can make a quick getaway if things become too boring. This week you’ll be in the mood to mingle, regardless of your sign, with new and novel people. In the spirit of the New Moon though you’re likely to make lasting friendships and with the most unlikely people so don’t judge a book by its cover!

Start a revolution
Aquarius is the resident rebel of the zodiac, the cheeky purple haired dissident who likes to rock the establishment. This New Moon is the best time to get your James Dean on (in honour of his birthday which was yesterday) and be a rebel but with a cause. Fight for something you believe in, question the status quo and don’t put up with ‘the norm’ if it’s outdated or really doesn’t make sense. Rock the boat, create tsunamis, make some noise and wake people out of their complacent slumber!

Reboot your brain
As one of the most intelligent and open-minded signs this New Moon in Aquarius is an excellent time to ‘unlearn’. As a cerebral air sign Aquarius is inquisitive and keen to gain knowledge but in order to make full use of this placement you may be required to leave certain mindsets behind that are preventing you from accepting new information or embracing unorthodox ways of thinking. It’s also an excellent time to download a few mind and memory expanding apps and rewire your neural pathways.

Flaunt your freedom
No, I don’t mean leave your partner and family in the lurch or kiss the nearest attractive stranger. If life’s demands have made you forget who you are use this poignant time to create pockets of freedom to redefine your identity by exploring your likes and dislikes. Even try to arrange a night away by yourself. If you’re single, footloose and fancy-free you should also examine whether you’re making the most of your freedom in terms of time, choice, destiny and realise that you’re the one in control.
