Gooree Park: The Winning Blend Of Thoroughbred Horses and Wines

Just ten minutes from Mudgee in the Heart of New South Wales, Gooree Park is one of the region’s most historic and picturesque properties. Producing both champions of the track and a wide range of award-winning wines, there’s no doubting Gooree’s thoroughbred credentials.

Much-loved Aussie cook Lyndey Milan recently allowed our cameras along as she visited for the day. First off is a chat with Cellar Door Manager Stephanie Ross on the different types of wine produced from the grapes grown in this, the biggest vineyard in the Mudgee region – and when talking wines and bubbly, you need to sample.. right?

Lyndey’s visit included an introduction by Stud Mistress Vikki Cannon to champion racehorse Desert War. She gets up close-and-personal to this 600kg winner of six Group 1 races (including two consecutive Epsom Handicaps!) – watch how keen he is to relieve Lyndey of the tasty treats she’s brought along for him. And check out the vision of the newborn foal our crew was lucky enough to catch during filming at Gooree.
