Can you feel the footy fever? October 6th is the date to circle in your calendar as The Canberra Raiders will face the Sydney Roosters at the ANZ Stadium for NRL Grand Final 2019.

It’s a great day full of footy and fun, but it doesn’t have to stop after the final whistle. All the excitement nerves, potential euphoria or disappointment can build up in you a hell of an appetite, so here are some places that we recommend you go try out after the Final.

A quintessential rooftop bar, this lovely spot is nestled high above bustling Darlinghurst Road, a space loved and treasured by locals and first timers alike. With a relaxed, chilled vibe and a stunning vista of the local skyline, it’s the perfect spot for a quick quesadilla, washed down with a cheeky Corona, or a Sunday afternoon after the finals!

Maybe Frank

If you are after a cocktail and wood fire pizza following the final, this is definitely the place for you. Their cocktails are all made with an Italian twist by the talented resident bartender, Andrea Gualdi, and their pizza is equally on par. The restaurant uses only the most delicious local ingredients, proving to be the ideal place for a drink and a bite on a Sunday.

Brick Lane

Looking for some comfort food that will warm you from the inside out? Look no further than Brick Lane, for modern and unconventional share style dishes that use flavours from the Indian subcontinent giving you that post game kick of flair. Inspired by the famous street in London, the exposed brick interior is also home to some striking street art.

Sneaky Possum

This Gastro bar takes on a three prong attack with fresh healthy bowls, delicious burgers and a high-class menu prepared by Head Chef, Ndeke. The cosy front bar is a great place for groups to enjoy the best craft brews and an extensive and ever growing Australian focussed back bar. Complementing the venue is the Sugar Glider Gallery upstairs, hosting a local artist monthly for your post game fine art fix.

Belly Bao

Located in Newtown, Belly Bao offers modern and fun cocktails with meals to match in an old-school Chinese restaurant, perfect for groups travelling through post match. The venue features a brightly coloured tropical mural lining the back wall, peach-coloured napkins and an extensive selection of spirits, perfect to celebrate a match victory!

Butter

A cross breed of indulgent food and style, Butter is a ‘lifestyle’ store. Come in for a delicious burger and leave with a pair of fly kicks – the perfect combination coming off the high of your team’s final win… or retail therapy in the case of a loss.
