Oh! OrganicHead: Shopaholic Tests The Latest Socially Aware Hair Care Range

As an enthusiastic consumer, I love new and interesting products. I am always on the hunt for innovation and hearing how inspired products come to market. I also like my ‘voice’ to be heard by the buying choices I make.

I remember the impact buying ‘dolphin free’ tuna made on the industry when the consumers said enough is enough and stopped buying brands that refused to adopt humane fishing techniques. I like to vote with my purchasing power.

Socially aware companies that support communities and use environmentally friendly production and ingredients are always of interest to me. There are so many clever innovators making the difference and leading the way.

Their stories are as fascinating as their products so I thought I would raise the awareness of some of my favourite socially conscious products that are game changing, shaking up the status quo and giving back. Meet Daniel Galvin Jr, who recently launched Oh! OrganicHead in Woolworths.

The dashing Royal hairstylist who is regularly in Australia not only sharing the secrets to achieving beautiful, healthy hair with the latest insider secrets in hair couture but also launching his stunning organic, vegan hair care range. At first glance, that sounds great but that is only scratching the surface of the man and this fabulous product range.

I am an advocate of buying organic and avoiding harmful chemicals that are bad for the environment and build up on the hair or make it brittle and fade the colour. Oh! OrganicHead certainly ticks all of the organic ‘good for you’ boxes but also has the bonus of being designed by Daniel with a focus on maintaining colour. Daniel is well known for his gorgeous Kids range Dubble Trubble, which is also available in Woolworths.

‘Hair colour is the ultimate cosmetic,’ says Daniel, who has his own salon in Belgravia, London.

Daniel is a hair colour expert and passionate about products that not only clean and nourish hair but support colour and styling.

I was excited to try this new range as maintaining colour without fading is always a trick.

Celebrity Salon Grade Organic Product that gives back to Australia

Daniel’s client list is mind-blowing and not just in the celebrity arena. Even when pressed Daniel remained tight-lipped about one of his most recent styling events, Pippa Middleton’s Hens night and wedding party. However, we did manage to get the low down on Daniel’s fabulous work with HRH Prince Charles. It is well known that Prince Charles is an organic gardener and enthusiast. Daniel’s product range donates to the Prince’s Trust charities not only in the UK, but in Australia and the USA.

The Oh! OrganicHead covers all bases – there is something for everyone. The range includes:

  • Everyday Shampoo & Conditioner is perfect or the whole family.  The product is mild and gentle which is good for everyday use.  Ideal for male and female teenagers and male and female adults coming from the gym to cleanse and freshen the body.
  • Detox & Purify Shampoo, Conditioner & Argan Oil Detox Masque is also suitable for the whole family. Specially formulated to nourish and revitalise tired and sun bleached or stressed hair.  It’s a handy product to use after the beach or swimming and as a pampering treat it’s highly recommended to use together as a three step system for your hair care routine.
  • Brunette Shampoo & Conditioner is designed specifically for Brunette male or females in the family. The range helps lift Brunette shades, whether natural or coloured, nourishing the hair from root to tip whilst organic orange oil soothes a dehydrated flaky scalp.
  • Blonde shampoo & conditioner is designed specifically for all blondes in the family. It naturally enhances and revitalises all types of blonde hair with over 70% Organic ingredients. Plus, it restores shine and colour brilliance and will protect hair colour making it last longer.

Savvy Test Drive Results:

As I mentioned I love to vote with my purchase power. Why would I buy another brand of product when I can have amazing hair, salon quality organic products that also give back to local charities – that is what I call a hero product developed by an amazing innovator.

Oh! OrganicHead for brunettes (it is also available for Blondes). After one wash my hair was noticeably shiny, it felt really clean and had volume. I assume this is because this gorgeous salon grade product is not full of sodium laurel or parabens like most products that coat or weigh the hair down. The fragrance is lovely and by no means overwhelming.

And, on another note, The Perth Mint Shop, located inside the grand heritage building in East Perth, is now stocking Highgrove Baby and Highgrove Signature products.

To enhance our suite of products, we are delighted to include several items from the beautiful Highgrove Baby and Highgrove Signature collections,” Exhibition Manager Cathy Anza from The Perth Mint Shop told The Carousel.

“Inspired by the gardens at Highgrove House, the Highgrove brand aligns with our British heritage and complements our array of Royal themed collector coins and existing giftware range.”
