Model and blogger Nikki Phillips certainly turned heads at the 2016 Melbourne Cup Carnival.

The stunning New Zealander, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2009, was dressed for success at Flemington Racecourse in an exquisite Misha outfit during the week where she appeared in the Birdcage and at the L’Oreal Paris Powder Room, which reopened for the first time since 2010.

If you noticed a similar look going on between Nikki and Donny, then you wouldn’t be wrong.

While Nikki styled her own outfit – a dress by Misha worn with an Ann Shoebridge hat and Tony Bianco shoes – she and her friend Donny co-ordinated what they were going to wear before the day at the races.

Donny said: “Nikki created her own look but we did definitely chat and co-ordinate our outfits so we had matching elements.  My tie matched her hat trim details.”

During the carnival L’Oréal Paris Makeup Director for Australia, Tobi Henney was on hand to offer her and other women advice on spring racing beauty, and created four key makeup looks for each day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Having recently returned from working behind the scenes at New York Fashion Week, Tobi is the go-to makeup artist for celebrity clients including Jessica Gomes, Georgia Fowler, Shanina Shaik and Megan Blake-Irwin.

“For the classic palette of black and white on Derby Day, I preferred a modern, minimal look featuring winged eyeliner and a nude lip, while Melbourne Cup is the day to experiment with a statement colour,” said Tobi. “For Oaks Day – glowing, luminous skin was the feature, and the Stakes Day beauty look was all about a golden glow.”
