- First things first – beautiful looking skin starts from within. “Always hydrate your skin with a good moisturiser,” says Giraud. “You can’t achieve the natural look without great skin!”
- Don’t go too heavy-handed with your foundation; a light base can go a long way. “Use a baked foundation and apply with a kabuki brush all over the face and neck after moisturiser.” Try Antonym Cosmetics Baked Foundation Light, $52, and Kabuki Brush, $33
- Contouring? Tread lightly when it comes to this new trend. “Instead of bronzer, use a darker shade of baked foundation for light contouring on the hollow of the cheeks, the hairline and under the chin. The color needs to be applied very lightly for a natural look.” Try Antonym Cosmetics Baked Foundation in Medium or Dark, $52, and Contour Brush, $29
- A dull complexion can be pepped up instantly with some colour on your cheeks. “Add some colour with a blush on the apples of cheeks to the temple.” Try Antonym Cosmetics Copper Baked Blush, $49
- Blink blink… don’t forget about your peepers too. “For the eyes, start with a dark eyeshadow over the eyelid, then add a lighter shade very lightly on the outer corner of the eye blending towards the inner corner on the crease of the eye,” continues Giraud. Try Antonym Cosmetics Noisette Eyeshadow Quattro, $53
- You’re almost there… just add some eyeliner to make your eyes stand out. “Fill in the top and bottom lash line with an eye pencil to bring out your eyes.”
- Complete the look with some more eyeshadow. “Only lightly line the bottom and top of the eye with eyeshadow.”
- You’ll want to go easy on this step. “Only use one coat of mascara,” said Giraud. Try Antonym Cosmetics Lola Lash Mascara, $31
- Kiss and do tell – it’s time to define lips. “Use a natural shade of lipstick to match your lip colour.” Try Antonym Cosmetics Naturelle Lipstick, $23
- A quick updo is just the thing to finish with. “Put your hair in a messy bun or tousled and rock this look!”
