Jen Hawkins, Kris Smith & Rachael Finch Rock The Runway For MYER SS15

Jen, ever the professional, had just heard good news of her mother’s cancer surgery as she took to the runway with fellow MYER ambassadors Rachael Finch and Kris Smith showcasing a sea of monochromatic and block-colour trends for the season ahead.

After big department store rival David Jones sent former Miss Australia, Jesinta Campbell down the runway last week to launch their collection, MYER’s Rachael Finch carved an uber-toned figure in a very, very tiny Sea Folly bikini.

Also sporting a lithe physique and not to be out-swimweared was Jen nailing a sleek black swimsuit from her very own brand Cozi.

Kris ‘jaw-dropping’ Smith lead the way for the blokes strutting his stuff in an M.J Bale tuxedo on the red carpet before donning the likes of leading MYER brands like Scoth & Soda, Dom Bagnato and M.J Bale.

Alongside Jen, Rachael, Kris and Kate Peck on the catwalk were 60 of Australia’s top models showcasing over 200 new season summer vibes. And the dewy glow of the make-up with a bronze-shimmer certainly suited the summer feel – even if it was freezing outside!

VIP guests enjoyed the new trends amidst the historic feel of Sydney’s Carriageworks beneath huge installations of 5000 Birds of Paradise flowers dramtically hung on illuminated balls.

MYER’s collection showcased brands like Peter Pilotto, MSGM, McQ, Roland Mouret, Christopher Kane, Aje, Yeojin Bae, White Suede and Cue while the beauty looks were created by beauty guru Napoleon Perdis. The show smacked strongly of the 60’s and 70’s with romantic palettes and florals with lace and ruffles making a sofenting appearance to block colours and black and white tones.

A-list fashion industry faves included Myer CEO Richard Umbers, Toni Maticevski, Alex Perry, Arthur Galan, Yeojin Bae, Jayson Brunsdon, Dom Bagnato, Johnny Schembri, Karen Walker, Wayne Cooper, Gail Elliott (Little Joe), Kate Sylvester, and new Myer designers Edwina Robinson and Adrian Norris from Aje.

Guests included Braith and Jodi Anasta, Nicole Warne, Samantha Jade, Margaret Zhang, Tanja G, Sam Frost, Didier Cohan, Ksenija Lukich, Dr Chris Brown, Fitzy & Wippa, Tim Robards & Anna Heinrich.

Jen – who’s mum Gail successfully underwent surgery to remove a cancerous kidney – took out the finale in one of her favourite designers, Toni Maticevski. Here’s the stunning all-white outfit…
