Guess Who Just Made Online Shopping Better?

Guess Who Just Made Online Shopping Better

As someone who loves to shop I have often been asked what I like the most. I love to find the latest and greatest, I do love a bargain and no doubt one of my favourite ways to shop is online because I love the convenience.

There are so many great things about shopping online.  The flexibility to comparison shop, to purchase anytime day or night and to have the item delivered to the door to name but a few.  Particularly this time of year I am mindful of avoiding crazy car parks, queues and road rage.

One of the potential downsides of shopping online is the money you save comparison-shopping can quickly be gobbled up on postage.

Online shopping just got better

Let me introduce you to a brilliant initiative from our friends at Australia Post called Shipster.  It makes online shopping even more cost effective.  Why? Well for a small monthly subscription fee of $6.95 you will get free shipping from over 50 of Australia’s favourite retailers.

Want a trial to see how it works?

Well the great news is that Shipster is free for the first two months so you can happily give it a try and see how much money you save using this fabulous service.  Just register at www.AustraliaPost.com.au/shipster  When you no longer need it you can cancel at any time.

I did a little Christmas shopping at Myer Online and used Shipster.  It was as easy as it sounds.

  1. I shopped and then went to check out.

  2. I added my details and automatically the $9.95 Myer shipping cost disappeared and my cart was updated to display my free Shipster postage.

  3. I checked out and my goodies were on the way.

Even if I only bought one item a month I am still saving money. True confession, I rarely buy one item a month!

What is the catch?

There are a couple of terms and conditions which are clear and easy to understand.

You’ll get free shipping when your order ticks these boxes:

  • Order total $25 and over
  • No oversized or heavy items that your postie can’t carry (shipping costs under $20)
  • Domestic parcels only

Who are the Retailers?

Well over 50 of the fabulous Aussie retailers (most likely stores you already shop).

Myer, Kogan, Chemist Warehouse, Target, Hairhouse Warehouse, Styletread,  Showpo, Harvey Norman, Typo and many more.  Check them out here.

Bonus

There is also Free delivery on eligible Deliveroo orders and a $10 credit offer with Farmers Direct orders.  So this initiative isn’t just for online shopping, you can also have free home delivery of food.

I must say I am so impressed with the continued innovation Australia Post is delivering.  Today Shipster is providing free shipping throughout Australia and this is only one of the new initiatives Australia Post is working on to improve online shopping, postage and their services into the future.
