Zimmermann Summer Swim 2015: Sydney Poolside Glam0

Their swimwear adorns beautiful bodies on stunning beaches all over the world. This season, Zimmermann brings the focus back home for Summer Swim 2015, setting the collection against the retro backdrop of a Sydney poolside locale. The results? We’re sure you’ll agree – are stunning – as usual Zimmermann!

Shot by Australian photographer Simon Lekias, the evocative array of images sets the tone for designer Nicky Zimmermann’s vision for the season, featuring in demand model Ophelie Guillermand in bold and sensual silhouettes.

“We wanted the campaign to invoke the nostalgic backdrop of hot Australian summers by the local pool, but with a sophisticated and modern direction” explains Zimmermann.

Sleek shapes sculpt the body in bonded Lycra that moulds to form. Wider set triangle busts are a key statement beginning on one-pieces, and evolving throughout the collection via plunge wire bandeaus and padded bustier bikinis. Moments of floral and paisley provide a feminine balance to sophisticated lines. Laddered trim inserts draw the eye in while hinting at subtle flashes of skin.

Bonded flounces sit high under the bust for unexpected touches of movement. Bold zebra print is softened with a printed mesh overlay giving subtle sensuality to sporty silhouettes. Athletic elements are further referenced in bold blocks of tomato and electric blue, asymmetric styles and boned one-pieces with measured cut-outs.

Embroidered daywear features custom trims in curved panelling and open backs, creating geometric shapes in wrap tops and mini dresses. Playsuits exude a bohemian attitude with smooth style lines which echo the sentiment of key swim highlights. Intense shades of red, cobalt and crisp ivory recall balmy days turned into nights.

Knotted leather sandals and canvas and suede accessories add a textural dimension to the sophisticated offering.
