Being David Jones’ ambassador…

Miranda Kerr had done it, Megan Gale had done it and each of them had set a standard where they had inspired young women around Australia to be fit, healthy and eventually want to buy clothes. There hadn’t been a guy, and I thought it was a great platform to inspire the men of Australia.

The process of getting in shape…

So worked my butt off – I got a nutrition coach, I studied, learned, trained… and I looked pretty good.  I had this huge response on social media of people asked what I ate, how I exercised and where I went to the gym. So, I started this #Dundas fit.

Over the course of two years it turned into this big online community of like-minded people, and I realised there was a hole in the market for activewear that guys can wear around and can express their individuality. They can be fashion forward, they don’t have to wear bright, neon colours and they can wear it more often.

I am from the western suburbs of Sydney… I think it is inspiring young guys to want to be healthy, to want to be fit, to want to be proud of wearing clothes that make them feel good.

Walking down the runway…

I just don’t think about it and then I don’t get nervous. Or I get really relaxed before it, to the point where I am like falling asleep so that I don’t loose all the energy, and then when I go out I just keep in natural. If the crowd is excited, I will be excited. If the crowd is normal, I will be normal. In my head I just think “Don’t crack up laughing.”

My favourite kind of exercise…

I really love lifting weights, like Arnold Schwarzenegger style. I feel strong. I alsolike hot yoga, to stretch out what I have done. I love cycling, I could cycle forever.

I also collect sneakers…

I have over a hundred pairs of Nikes and Adidas shoes. I go to the gym every day, so I wear a different pair of sneakers every day to the gym. Once I have worn it for two weeks, I don’t want to wear it anymore and it sits in a pile in my room. My favourite style is the Nike Air Max 90 – all black with a white sole. They are just classic.

My favourite sneaker stores…

I go to undefeated in LA. It’s sick, and it’s at the end of my street. Or in New York there is this a place called Nike 21 on Mercer Street.

My food philosophy…

There are a couple of really simple rules. Whenever you go to drink something, make sure it is water. Whenever you sit down to eat, make sure that ¾ of your plate is either vegetables or salad.  Very simple.

I love to cook…

In LA, I cook maybe three meals a day. I have an Iranian girlfriend so I make this Teriyaki chicken with lightly grilled sweet potato. It is very nice.

My beauty routine….

I like to lock my hair in, so I use a bunch of hair sprays. On my face I use Kiehl’s – a cleanser, exfoliator, moisturiser, and night serum.

My career highlight…

Launching my brand, Dundas Fit. Two years ago it was a dream in my loft in New York. I just called my Mum and asked, “do you think this name is cool?” I then wrote it down on a piece of paper and checked if the URL was available. Now here we are.

My life motto…

I dream like I’ll live forever and I live like I’ll die today.
