At just 18 years old, Bethany Mota has been taking the YouTube world by storm since she was 13 and “kind of bored.” While her YouTube career was spurned from being bullied at schools, Bethany has turned this into one of the biggest online successes to date. On how she got started uploading videos to YouTube, she says;

“I was also being bullied at the time, so I kind of didn’t really want to do anything. I just wanted to stay inside.”

The result? Mota’s channel ranks No. 49 across all of YouTube and is No. 3 in the category of How-To & Style. She has over 7 million subscribers and close to 500 million views on YouTube and according to experts, grosses somewhere between US$500,000 and US$750,000 annually from advertising revenue. But it’s not just the world of YouTube that Bethany has wowed, her infectious personality and style has won the hearts of many fans worldwide. Bethany has more than dabbled in other markets. She has spread the Bethany Mota brand across the worlds of fashion design, creating collections for teen retailer Aéropostale, released singles like “Need You Right Now” and is currently appearing on the American Dancing With The Stars.

Bethany’s visit to shop up a storm at Westfield Hornsby proved she’s as cute, cheery and bubbly in person as she is on her videos. Of course she brought her trusty Converse with her and says of never travelling without them “They’re just so comfy!”. And she was blown away by our Aussie fashion saying it’s “way cuter than back home. Everyone is so cool here. You guys dress so cool! I love all these (clothes) and I can’t believe you can get them all at Westfield.”

After zipping from store to store (including Sportsgirl, General Pants, Supré, Cotton On & Dotti) picking out her favourites, Bethany wowed her devoted fans with a Q&A session on stage. Having visited Australia a few months earlier, she said “I’m so happy to be back in Australia because I was here a couple months ago and I’ve missed it!”. Waving goodbye from the stage, Bethany warmly said, “Thank you guys so much for coming.  I love Australia so much and I’m really bummed that I’m only here for three days, but I’ll be back soon and I’m looking forward to seeing you again cause I love you guys.”

We can’t wait to see you again Bethany, come back anytime!sponsored-postThis is a sponsored post by Westfield. All opinions expressed by the author are authentic and written in their own words.
