When it comes to a good anti-ageing skincare regime, it’s worth investing in high quality products with proven ingredients.

Launching in Australia this month is Peter Thomas Roth Skincare which includes Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream, currently Sephora’s top selling moisturiser in the US.

Sarah McNamara, Executive President of Peter Thomas Roth Clinical Skin Care, talked exclusively to The Carousel about why the top selling brand is the ‘gold standard’ in skincare.

“We were a foundation brand for Sephora when they first opened in the States in 1988,” says New Zealand-born beauty maven about the brand which has become a beauty staple for those in the know.

“Peter Thomas Roth is now Sephora’s number three brand which is pretty amazing in this industry.”

Founder Peter Thomas Roth was first driven to solve his own skin concerns and as a result went on to launch his own line targeting everything from acne to pigmentation to fine lines.

“Peter’s family owned and operated spas in Hungry and then he decided to propel his background in skincare and become an innovator,” says Sarah. “We have our own R&D inhouse team and lab and we are first to market with powerful new ingredients, breakthrough formulas and trends.”

The product line consists of a range of over 100 products world-wide and was customised by Peter Thomas Roth to cater for all skin types and concerns.

Peter himself sources and develops products from all over the world- including 9,000 year old Irish moor mud, Antarcticine from Arctic glacial ice and berries from the Amazon.

The stunning packaging is also packed with information and Sarah says that’s in line with their philosophy to educate consumers about the strength of ingredients within each product.

But Sarah is also quick to say that to enjoy healthy skin you must also subscribe to a healthy diet, exercise, drink plenty of water and avoid harmful sun rays as well as refrain from smoking cigarettes.

“Good skincare is in conjunction with everything being in balance,” says Sarah, who herself has a flawless complexion. “I’m 51 but I’ve always looked after my skin.

“The most important thing is to clean and exfoliate your skin regularly. I cleanse using simple exfoliating pads such as the Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads which helps improve collagen. I also use active ingredients such as glycolic which has powerful enzymes. Our Irish Moor Mud Purifying Cleansing Gel clears the skin’s surface of pore-clogging.

“Once or twice a week I also use a strong mask. The Cucumber Gel Mask is very hydrating and instantly cooling. It reduces redness almost immediately and is good for sensitive skin. Our 24k Gold Mask is our premiere line and lifts, firms and brightens the skin. It contains colloidal gold which is calming on the skin.

“It’s also important to use a good day and night cream.”

In all, Sarah’s anti-ageing advice to women is simple: use good products and for those who take the time to put in the effort the rewards will come.
