The look at the DKNY S/S ’15 show in New York saw the brand revisiting its 90’s roots, with a take on the diverse New York urban youth culture of that time.

The models, a mix of street casting and regular models were hand- picked for a diverse cast of characters that reflected the vibrant melting pot that is New York.

The Look:  Hot in the City

The hair look, created by Eugene Souleiman, Creative Director, Wella Professionals took inspiration from iconic urban hair looks; the gelled wave, the zig zag parting, braids and a pony tail to create a ‘hot in the city’ graphic look reminiscent of the hip hop culture of the ’80’s and ’90’s. “I wanted to create a look that reflected the different New York mix of urban cultures, celebrated racial diversity, and had a slightly ‘old school’ feel to it.  I wanted something strong that had a definite point of view,” added Eugene.

  1. DKNY has THE NERVE to take a hair style that blacks and Latinos were rocking hard in the 80\’s & 90\’s and not use nary a one. EVEN THE ZIG ZAG PART?!
What is wrong with this company? You steal something that clearly from US ask Jlo and done even TRY to put someone of a brown hue?
All these products and all they need is some gel and a toothbrush. SMH
There is someone from the 90’s with their baby hairs slathered down, bobo earings and baggy pants rolling in the graves.
